Worship on Sunday Mornings 8am in-person and 10am in-person and online

Gathering together in community to seek God - drawing near to God and to each other - is the heart of what we do as Christians. Each church tends to have its own way of doing things - their own unique flavor - and Episcopal churches are no different! We follow an order of worship (or liturgy), found in the Book of Common Prayer, very similar to a Roman Catholic mass or Lutheran service. Liturgy means "the work of the people," and this work of worship joins us to the ancient scriptures and prayers that have been passed down to us from our ancestors in the faith, generation to generation. It draws us into the sweeping drama of God's work of redemption in the world. We are reminded once again of who and whose we are. And we are nourished and empowered to take that message and hope out into our world around us, to be bearers of good news, to be agents of healing and reconciliation.

St. Matthew's invites you to join in any of our worship services. We're a friendly and helpful bunch, so if there is something happening in the service you don't understand or you're not sure what to do, just ask! You won't ever be put on the spot or embarrassed in any way here. Dress ranges from formal to casual, basically whatever is comfortable to you. We truly believe God doesn't care what you wear, God cares about your heart. We do, too! We hope to see you soon.

8:00 am

Sunday Worship

This is our most traditional service, following Rite I in the Book of Common Prayer. You will hear our wonderful organ accompanying the ancient prayers of the church which harken back to King James English and the early Celtic church, listen to readings from Holy Scripture, join in the ancient creed of the church and join together as community. This service aims to be reverent yet spirited in honoring the Anglican/Episcopal liturgical heritage.

The church building will open Sunday to worshipers at 7:30.

10:00 am

"Come worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness..."

This broadly traditional worship service (following Rite II in the Book of Common Prayer) has an equally broad range of music from beloved classical hymns to gospel spirituals. More importantly, you will find a broad range of people at this service: younger, older, and in the middle, from all walks of life. Together, we joyously seek the Lord. Prayer, hymns and praise, an inspiring message to ponder, communion, and good friends await you. Come and see!
